How many sessions will I need? Will kinesiology interfere with my medication? How do I choose/ find a practitioner? Why do I need Creative Kinesiology? Creative Kinesiology can help you by: What is Kinesiology? Kinesiology was originally developed by an American chiropractor called George Goodheart. He found that by testing muscles before and after he made a correction he achieved better results for his patients. As time progressed he was able to make a connection between various muscles and acupuncture meridians. By testing these muscles the kinesiologist can get a picture of what is happening in your meridian system and how this is affecting you. But, equally, the muscle testing can also show what has affected the meridians in the first place and indicate what is the best way to deal with that stress, be it emotional, physical, environmental, nutritional or mental. So, kinesiology is a blend of the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and western techniques that allow a kinesiologist to treat you in a truly holistic manner. Each person’s session is unique to them. Kinesiology can establish connections between imbalances and can establish which is the priority issue to be dealt with and what is the most effective treatment. Kinesiology uses a range of gentle yet extremely powerful techniques. These restore balance to your system and create and maintain health and well-being. You can function better on all levels. Muscle testing also allows the kinesiologist to draw on other healing techniques and modalities and integrate them into the session where appropriate. Some people consider kinesiology to be one of the best methods to uncover the underlying causes of health problems that are difficult to find by any other means. How Do I become a Creative Kinesiologist? The first step is to complete a Foundation Training-Life Care Kinesiology, Life Tracking, Touch for Health or any other recognised foundation training. You may then undertake one of the professional courses either 'Way of the Tracker' or 'Perceptual Bodywork'. What can I expect from a session? The treatment is carried out fully clothed. During the first session the practitioner will normally take a case history and the process will be explained. The practitioner will explain muscle monitoring (testing) to you and demonstrate it. In a Creative Kinesiology session practitioner and client work together in a co- creative way. Muscle testing enables the practitioner to communicate with the wisdom of the body to find the source of an issue, the story behind it and what is needed to empower and enable the client to move forward in their life. How long will a session take? This depends on the practitioner. Typically sessions last between 1-1½ hours. What can I expect from a session? Significant change can take place after just one session. We recommend at least three sessions; this can result in profound change, these further sessions will then ensure that these changes are anchored in your body. Some people continue with Creative Kinesiology on a regular basis. Others find it beneficial when they need to be functioning optimally or want help making transitions in their life. How much will a session cost? Ask the practitioner before your first consultation. Charges vary according to kinesiologist and area. As a rough guide, expect to pay between £30 and £60 for a session. Will Kinesiology affect my medication? No. Kinesiology is a complementary therapy. Your practitioner will generally take a medical history, including details of any medication. Unless medically qualified, the kinesiologist will not advise changes to your medication. However, he or she may suggest you review your medication with your GP more regularly as your therapy progresses. How Do I Find/ Choose a Practitioner?
